What is EZBuzzer?
EZBuzzer adds "Buzz In" capabilities to any type of game. It is best played with at least two people: a Host and one or more Players.
Players connect automatically via Bluetooth, or manually via the Internet, to a Host. The Host can award points, keep time, and reset/clear buzzes to allow more buzzing.
How do I start a game?
The Host should tap The Host or A PlayerHost. A PlayerHost can both Buzz in and use all normal Host controls.
Everyone else should tap A Player. After about 10 seconds the Host will begin seeing nearby players listed — in some cases connections can take up to 30 seconds. Players not in Bluetooth range can connect by tapping the Connect icon to join via the Internet.
Once everyone is listed, the Host can lock in the players and the game can begin.
Bluetooth vs. Internet — what's the difference?
Bluetooth is the default and recommended method — it is fast, reliable, and connects automatically.
For remote players, an Internet connection is also available by tapping the Connect icon at the top of the Player Screen. An Internet backup connection is also enabled automatically once a Bluetooth connection is established.
The icons at the top of the Player and Host screens show your current connection status; tap them for more details.
Please note that Internet connection speeds can vary greatly and are outside the control of EZBuzzer.
What do Pro and Premium include?
EZBuzzer Pro removes all ads for the life of the app.
EZBuzzer Premium includes everything in Pro, plus:
- Any Player who connects to your game while you are Host will also see no ads.
- An unlimited number of Players can connect via the Internet (the standard limit is 4).

How do I use Teams?
Tap the Pencil icon in the Players section to enter Change Mode, then tap Add a Team to create new teams.
Long-press and drag players to move them under the appropriate team.
How do I change a Player or Team score?
There are two ways:
- Tap the Pencil icon in the Players section to enter Change Mode, then tap the score you want to change.
- Tap the Plus (Bonus) icon in the lower-right of the Host Screen. Select the desired Player or Team, then enter an amount to add or subtract.
How does the Game Timer work?
The Game Timer sets a time limit for your round. When time expires it plays a sound and locks player buzzing.
Tap the Stopwatch icon in the lower-left of the Host Screen. Press the Pencil icon to change the time, or press Play to start the countdown.
You can change the default timer length in Settings.
How do I lock a game to prevent new players from joining?
Once all players have joined, tap the Searching text below the player list. The game will lock, preventing unknown players from joining via Internet or Bluetooth.
Tap again to unlock.

Tips for Bluetooth connection problems
Move close to the Host — you should be within 10 meters (30 feet) to establish a connection.
If you are in range but not connecting, try the following:
- Make sure the Bluetooth icon for the Host is green and for the Player is yellow. Tap the icon for more details if not.
- Make sure the Host has not locked the game (no lock symbol under the player list).
- Allow up to 30 seconds for the connection to establish.
- Both the Player and Host should restart EZBuzzer.
- Still no luck? Restart the Host and/or Player devices to clear the Bluetooth cache.
Tips for Internet connection problems
If you are not in Bluetooth range, tap the Connect icon and enter the Room Code your Host provides.
If you are already connected via Bluetooth, an Internet backup connection is established automatically.
Internet connection speed can vary greatly and is outside the control of EZBuzzer.
My Bluetooth keeps dropping — how do I stay connected?
Some phones may occasionally drop Bluetooth connections. Try moving closer to the Host (within 10 m / 30 ft), disabling Battery Saver, or charging your device.
If drops persist, make sure you are also connected via the Internet so you stay in the game. EZBuzzer will always automatically attempt to re-establish any dropped connection.
How do I switch to a different Host?
If you joined the wrong game, back out to the Main Screen and re-enter Player Mode. You will then be able to connect to the correct Host.
The Host also has the option to eject you from their game if needed.
